Sector: Government
Client: Municipal government of a small Northern New Jersey suburb
Challenge: The government of this small village was using no fewer than five separate phone systems – three in the Town Hall alone, another in the public library and one in the Dept. of Public Works building. Calls from one Town Hall office to another had to go through the local phone company’s central office, as if they were calls to another town.
Phonextra’s Proposition: Replaced the five systems with one centralized system, providing four-digit dialing within the system, state-of-the-art voice mail, voice over IP capability, IP phones, and integrated messaging, which allows town employees to retrieve both e-mail and voice mail messages via their PCs.
Result: Reduced telecom charges by a third, and cut system maintenance
costs in half.
